Who Am I?

Hi! My name is Richard Stahl.

I am a creative multimedia storyteller with a strong foundation in game design, visual art, and multimedia production. Skilled in capturing and sharing stories through diverse media, including animation, film, board games, and video games. Experienced in recording studio support and training, with a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge. I believe we each have our own well of stories, and we have the ability to spread these stories with millions of mouths. I’ve made it my mission to preach as many of my own stories as possible by building a vessel for story telling, and all are welcome aboard to tell their own or listen. I am also adept at managing projects, solving problems, and enhancing audience experiences. I’m continuing to strengthen my skills in multimedia, game design, and customer-facing roles to create engaging experiences and meaningful content.

What is this?

I’m using this opportunity to tell a story. First and foremost, the story of Warp : Wake is the most crucial aspect of it. I’ve spent my entire college career studying different mediums to tell this story. Everything from novels, movies, shows, scripts, theater, pilots, video games, to board games have taken me on this journey. Eventually I came to a compromise with myself, that I would have to spread the story between mediums. But for now, we’re using a hybrid between a video, board, and card game to make Warp : Wake.

What is Warp : Wake?

Warp : Wake takes place in a futuristic world where a magical calamity erupted, destroying part of a continent turning it into a peninsula, and has poisoned the surrounding area. You play as a collection of characters trying to fulfill each of their own unique goals by playing cards from their preconstructed decks and gaining reputation. Players can win by collecting reputation, but each character also has their own alternate win condition that ties into what this character has done in the story. The game also includes a location deck of cards that corresponds to each locale, and depending on the characters in play, additional cards will be added to these decks. This is meant to resemble the effects characters have on the world as a whole.
